Our slot dies combine maximum process control with outstanding coating quality – even for demanding coating applications.
More than 20 years of experience in the development and manufacture of precision coating tools form the basis for customized die concepts. They ensure uniform coatings, stable processes and maximum efficiency.

Our experienced engineers combine rheological characterization, analytical calculations, and CFD and FEM simulations. This allows us to precisely design the fluid chamber and consider the entire coating window. Combined with our expertise in plant engineering and practical process knowledge, this results in uniform and reproducible coating results.
Precision-ground and hand-lapped internal surfaces and lips, combined with highly polished flow surfaces, ensure the highest manufacturing quality. Tolerances of less than 1 μm and surface roughness values of less than Ra 0.05 μm are standard. High-quality stainless steel is used as the standard material; special materials such as titanium are also available depending on the application.
Whether full-surface or multiple lanes: Precision sheets with different designs allow for the precise adjustment of the coating geometry. The coating can be applied continuously or discontinuously using an additional intermittent valve system.
Depending on the application, our JCS Slot Dies are available as Multi-Layer Dies. We can realize one-, two-, and three-layer coatings, tailor-made to your process and fluid parameters.
Depending on the requirements, JCS slot dies are available with fixed lips, flexible lip adjustment or T-bar adjustment. Adjustment can be manual or motorized – either manually controlled by the operator in an open-loop system or automatically controlled in a closed-loop system using a coating thickness measurement device.
Integrated temperature channels enable heating or cooling of the slot die body. Alternatively, electrical heating is available to ensure consistent process conditions and enable coating at elevated temperatures.
We repair and refurbish both JCS and third-party slot dies. Additional services and equipment include assembly and cleaning carts, vacuum chambers, valves, fittings, hoses, and spare and wear parts.
