Matting agents are generally used in the lacquers to produce matt surfaces. This is referred to as chemical matting. In physical matting, excimer lacquers are used, which begin to expand on the surface by means of 172 nm irradiation and thus wrinkle. This can be used to create super matt and closed surfaces.
