Slot Die coating: First choice for gigafactories
Slot Dies are the gold standard for coating substrates for Li-ion battery applications. In addition to exceptionally uniform coating thickness, our Slot Die technology ensures precise control over the coating process. High reliability is further complemented by pre-dispensing capability, excellent coating performance, robust process stability and a closed slurry feed system.
Customized work from test to production
When designing our Slot Dies, our team of experienced specialist engineers benefit from our rigorous process: It includes
- rheological characterization,
- analytical calculations,
- numerical fluid mechanics with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and
- finite element simulations (FEM).
On this basis, our individualized solutions achieve perfectly homogeneous coating results.
Precision manufacturing
We also follow a thorough and proven process in the manufacturing of the Slot Dies based on the analysis results, which includes precise adjustments and rigorous testing. Our manual lapping process guarantees micron-precise manufacturing accuracy, which is further ensured by industry-leading quality assurance mechanisms. The result is a uniform, maximally accurate coating.
